Filtering & Monitoring for Android devices:

Filtering:

From your Android phone go to 'Play Store' (formerly 'Android Market') search for 'K9 Web Protection Browser' (free), download and install it on your phone. Open the new 'K9 browser'. It will ask you to create a password, have a Rav, friend or spouse create the password for you, then make sure the following are checked: 'Enable Admin Mode', 'Install Helper',  'Redirect Web Browsers',  'Block YouTube App'.

White-List:

NetNanny has just released a new App for Android which will have the ability of White-listing. But as of now, the NetNanny App doesn't work so well.  We will update this page as soon they fix the problems.

No-Internet:

From your Android phone go to 'Play Store' (formerly 'Android Market') and search for ‘App Lock’ (from Domobile), download and install it on your phone. Open the new app, ask a Rav, friend or spouse to create a password for you, then lock up all 'Internet Browsers', 'YouTube', 'Facebook' and all other Apps you don’t want to have access to.

Monitoring:

Filtering & Monitoring for BlackBerry:

Filtered Internet:

Jnet Mobile: http://jnetmobile.com/

No Internet:

NEW! Download the ‘GYE BlackBerry App’ here gye.org.il/bb. (Compatible with Platform 5.0 and 5+). After installation, this App will lock your Browser and the BlackBerry App Store. The password is encrypted and can only be opened by contacting a GYE Rep. Every time the app is unlocked, a new code is generated so the old password will no longer work. You can always add applications to be blocked by opening the ‘GYE’ App from the ‘Menu’ item, and then clicking ‘Add Applications’.

Alternative ‘No Internet’ Solution for platforms lower than 5.0:

Download EveryLock (US $1.99) here: gye.org.il/everylock. Have a Rav, friend or spouse set up and keep the password for you.  They should lock the Browser, App store, Options, Facebook, Twitter etc.

Monitoring:

PhoneSheriff: http://phonesheriff.com

Note: not compatible with all OS versions.

Filtering & Monitoring For iPhone, iTouch, iPad:

Filtering:

From your phone go to the 'App Store' and search for 'K9 Web Protection browser'. Download and install it onto your phone. (You can also use 'SafeNet Browser' available on the App store). Then go to Settings > General > Restrictions, and enable restrictions.  Then have your friend or spouse put in and keep the 4 digit password for you. Then switch the following to “Off”: Safari, YouTube, iTunes, etc. Also switch "off" 'Installing Apps', or at least set the level of 'allowed download apps' to 12+ (this will prevent anyone from downloading new unfiltered browsers). For detailed graphical instructions see here gye.org.il/k9idevice.

No-Internet:

Go to Settings > General > Restrictions, and enable restrictions.  Then have your Rav/friend or spouse put and keep the 4 digit password for you. I tried that but tapping on 'advanced' doesn't do anything. 'Advanced' is a dummy or is protected.

I was able to buy a premium copy and hide the application. But it was still visible as a widget, and can be uninstalled from there.

      What do I do?

I figured it out (for galaxy SIII). I downloaded the Smart App Protector from the play store. Then I went to the Smart App Protecor and locked up all internet and social media applications. Under 'Settings' of the Smart App Protector, I checked the 'Adding to Device Admin' option. I asked my wife to select and keep the password. Now I cannot uninstall the Smart App lock and I and my phone are completely protected.
